Welcome to the Northern Lake Amphibian Pilots' web site.
Our goals are: to increase the safety of our planes and pilots; provide support to organizations that promote the safe use and accessibility of waterways for aircraft; and, to share the joy and camaraderie of flying these wonderful planes.
A portion of this web site is also devoted to being a source of information and contacts for Lake aircraft.

Sad news...

Our Lake Father and Technical Expert, Elton Townsend, passed away peacefully May 5, 2022
after complications surfaced following surgery.

There will not be a public visitation or funeral.

In lieu of flowers, Mary has requested donations be made to the
Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Bracebridge Hospital.

Any one of us who has piloted a Lake has been made a better pilot
because of Elton’s efforts, knowledge and devotion to safe planes and flying practices.

Elton will be missed and fondly remembered.
