Northern Lake Amphibian Pilots'
Fly-In & Safety Seminar

Survey Results 2006

In the fall of 2006, we sent surveys to all those who had attended the September Killarney fly-in.  A total of 34 surveys were sent out, and 13 completed (or partially completed) surveys were returned.  A big thanks to all of you who returned the survey.  You've been a great help.  We'll be using the results for the planning of future fly-ins.

Here are the results!

Additional comments:
- How about starting a library of trip summaries (outlines) including hotel, restaurants, FBOs, sites to see?   Big trips, small trips, local trips.  And distribute to all each year, along with list of attendees and their email and mail addresses.

Companion Activities

Question:  Would you like to be better informed about pilot sessions for possible attendance?
Only one person selected the Yes response,  but nobody selected No (6 people simply skipped the question)

Question: We’d like your opinion on activities that we had this year, as well as on some suggestions for next year.
Only 7 people responded to this section, and most did not indicate their level of interest in all of the suggestions. As a result the totals are less than 7 for each.

Additional comments:
-
A guided nature walk could be a good morning activity – depending on how many pilots would be interested in joining.
- Massages this year were uninspiring.
- Co-pilot check list in case of emergencies: what to do immediately; were is the raft and how to use it over water; sterile cockpit.
- Some recipe exchanges or guest cook

Afternoon Activities

Question:  Some participants have suggested various afternoon activities.  Are you interested in organized afternoon activities?
7 respondents said ‘Yes’, they were interested in organized afternoon activities.
One added the comment that although they were interested in organized activities, they wouldn’t want them every day.

If yes, the following are some suggestions.

Additional comments:

We need to get Killarney into the modern age with good TV in the conf room.  How about making a donation to them of a partial amount of the cost of a new flat screen TV to get them to buy something we can use for DVD presentations.  The existing TV is horrible!

Other Comments

Question: Are there any other comments or suggestions that you would like to make about the fly-in?
-
Prearranged check rides.
-
Since there are many repeat attendees I agree that it is good to vary the program from year to year so the event does not become stale.
-
Better equipment to present video programs would help.
-
Variety is important so we don’t become too predictable and lose people.
-
Many thanks to Donna, George, Rob & Sky for all the effort – I look forward to another Killarney adventure.
-
This was my first fly-in.  I found everything fun and enjoyable.  I was not there for the book discussion so I cannot comment.  I enjoyed the manicures and pedicures and various craft sessions.  Although I enjoyed the beading session I was not impressed with the instructor.  I did not find she came appropriately prepared with materials and did not give very much instruction.  Thank you for all your planning.  I certainly appreciated all that you did for a successful event.
-
Thanks for all you are doing to make the fly-in great!  It is still the most fun of any we go to!
-
Thank you your effort to enhance the program.
