September 8 to 11, 2011

 

Friday - Sunday:   Pilots’ Sessions  9:30 to 12:00

  • Cliff Maine will provide an update on insurance and legal issues covering: the new FAA re-registration, Foreign Trusts aircraft ownership in USA, and status of Lake Insurance programs and recommended limits.

  • Shop Talk and Flying Forum 
    Lake experts will take you through several topics of interest and answer your questions.  These include flying tips and pilot techniques as well as maintenance tips and general mechanical airworthiness discussions.

 

Companion Sessions:  9:30 to 12:00

  • Variety of crafts

  • Book discussion and exchange

Afternoons: 

  • Friday 5:30  - Carousel Lounge Social (compliments of Killarney Mountain Lodge)
  • Friday afternoon fly-out.  Fly to Tobermory and land at Tobermory airport.  From there, get shuttled to the dock  for a 1.5 hour glass bottom boat tour of a number of the shipwrecks in the Fathom Five Marine Park .  Boat tour starts at 1:30.  On the way back to Killarney, overfly the wrecks and check them out from the air.   Cost $22 per person. 
  • Saturday 4:00 - Channel party
  • As always, hiking, canoeing, or just relaxing

Evening Activities (start time 8:15):

  • Thursday evening welcome and social evening in Carousel Lounge
  • Friday evening, Clare McEwan from Air Safaris International  http://www.airsafarisint.com/ will share some of his flying adventures with us. 
  • Saturday evening - short slide show by Ed McNeil on flying in the Yukon followed by a moonlight kayak/canoe paddle and/or a social in the Carousel Lounge.
